This three page undergraduate paper examines the issue of poverty in the world. The author notes that global poverty is an extremely serious problem and that the industrialized world has an obligation to alleviate it. Unfortunately, corrupt power structures in many poverty stricken nations prevent foreign aid from going to the people it is intended for, and this problem must be resolved if foreign aid is to have any positive chance of reducing poverty.
