Fragile and Failed States: An Analysis of International Impact

This twelve-page graduate paper examines the impact fragile and failing states have on the international community. The author notes that these states are destabilizing the world primarily because they are breeding grounds for conflict and terrorism. Fragile and failing Third World states wracked by poverty, ruled by tyrants, dismissive of liberalism, plagued by illiteracy, and mistrustful of the outside world will continue to destabilize the international community until or unless the host of problems they face can be addressed effectively through a combination of their own willingness to reform internally and the WestÂ’s willingness to devote greater efforts to assist them.
