Voltaire, Newton and Copernicus: The Development of the Scientific Revolution in Conjunction with Enlightenment Philosophy

In this paper we can realize how Copernicus began the Scientific Revolution in the 16th century, which had finally bloomed into the Enlightenment Era. The 18th century would finally see Voltaire and Newton further expanding Classical Greek thought into observation and critical thinking, as new theories on the universe and gravity were being formed. The 18th century also saw the apogee and finale of the Scientific Revolution, free from the irrational bonds of Christianity through the Roman Catholic Church.
