Folk Songs of China and Canada: Educating Children on their Culture

In this paper we will examine the folk songs of China and Canada. We will identify the differences between the two types of songs and we will describe how these songs influence the cultural values of each country, and how they affect children. Through this analysis, we will see that children are the source of our future, and through song we can help them build a better tomorrow. We will see that teaching children song early in their life deserves our attention, and is a wonderful way to teach them values and traditions. Let us first consider a bit about how oral traditions, such as folk songs are disseminated.
