Feminist theory is a generalized, wide-ranging system of ideas about social life and human experience developed from a woman-centered perspective. By definition, feminist theory emerges from within an interdisciplinary community that includes scholars from a variety of disciplines. Feminist scholars work, first of all, to develop their own discipline (sociology) by taking into account the diverse work of Feminist theorists.
