This paper addresses the attitudes found within American periodicals during the period of Benito Mussolinis rise to power. The foremost proponent of fascism and a former ally of Western Europe, the study of media sources and their coverage of Mussolini and fascism helps lend a critical eye to how attitudes in the media change over time, and how these changing attitudes impact the consumers of these media sources.
