Egyptian Myths and Legends

The origin of Egyptian myths are created in virtually the same way as myths of other cultures. They are created as a way to explain something, such as the life of the sun, or to celebrate a particular facet of the culture such as the celebration of agriculture. This essay will examine life in Ancient Egypt, the worship of the sun, how their worship and their way of life tie together, the creation myth and the specific myth of Ra. Overall, this essay will show that the Ancient Egyptians were influenced by their land and livelihood when accepting or creating their myths and legends.
