This paper examines the effect that absent fathers has on the family structure. The paper first describes the socio-cultural forces that have created a modern society in which fathers need not be an active part of the family. The paper examines the effect that this absence has on child development. Finally, the paper talks about some of the legislative efforts being made to halt this trend.
This paper answers several questions on a case study of the implementation of a DSS, (decision support system) in assigning military personnel and their families to housing provided by the government, taking into account community variables size and number of housing units available, family sizes, and rank of military personnel involved, using DSS as a way of making the decision.
