This paper is in two parts. The first part is two pages long and is a book report and discussion of the book Mexifornia by Victor Hanson. It raises several points about the function that cultural alienation serves concerning Mexican immigrants. The second part of this essay is a three-page letter to the City Council of Diamond Bar, CA that advocates economic development through means other than strip mall development.
