This paper is a book report on The Last Wine. The most exhilarating aspect of the novel "The Last of the Wine" is how beautifully Mary Renault relives the Athenian past. The story is a recreation of the Peloponnesian War narrated by the surviving Athenian soldier, Alexas. Renault even goes on to include the intricate details of how men wore flowers in their hair to symbolize honor for their gods and women were not allowed to sing for men in the boundaries of their homes.
