This paper is written about Gustave Flaubert. Gustave Flaubert was born in 1821 in the French capital of Rouen. He spent most of his life living in the city of his birthplace. He had originally wanted to become a lawyer, however, due to a breakdown in his childhood he had to settle for writing as his future career. He started off writing books on romance and travel, but none of them were ever published. Madame Bovary, was the first book written by Flaubert to be published when he was nearly thirty-five years old.
